Disk space is the amount of space allotted to your web hosting account. With MIC you benefit from having 500 MB of disk space with our Lite plan - enough space to publish any type of web site. However, if your site will have many multimedia files or other heavy-duty content, consider using our Pro plan. Free subdomains |
Subdomains are individual Web addresses built upon a pre-existing domain name, e.g. sub.yourdomain.com. For example, if you wish to have a separate web site for your sales department, you could create a subdomain called sales.yourdomain.com. This way the URL of your sales web site will look more professional and thus add to the total competence of your web presence. With MIC you can have as many subdomains as you need. We offer up to seven subdomains as part of our Lite hosting plan and 21 for our Pro plan. If you need more, there is a small one-time fee of $5 per additional subdomain for the Lite plan or $3 for the Pro plan. |

MySQL databases |
A database is a structured collection of data. It may be anything from a simple shopping list to a picture gallery or vast amounts of information in a corporate network. To add, access and process data stored in a computer database, you need a database management system such as MySQL. If you wish to have any newsgroups, message boards, forums etc. on your Web site you will need a database.
When buying a Lite hosting plan from us, you get two MySQL databases, which you can easily manage through the online phpMyAdmin Database Manager, found in the Control Panel. With our Pro plan, six MySQL databases are included. |

Domain parking |
When you have a domain parked on your account it will act the same way as your primary domain. It will show the same site and any e-mail sent to the parked domain will be delivered to the mailboxes you already have for the primary domain.
For instance, if you have mydomain.com, mydomain.net and mydomain.org, and need all of them to open your Web site, domain parking may be the right solution for you. |

The address of your online Webmail is easy to remember - just add "/webmail" after your domain name, such as http://www.mydomain.com/webmail. Enter your e-mail account username and password, and you are ready to go! |

SMTP, POP3, IMAP servers |
SMTP: Our SMTP servers allow you to send e-mail from you@yourdomain.com. Bear in mind that the SMTP server is using the POP-before-SMTP authentication method. What this means for you is that you will always have to log into the incoming mail server (POP3/IMAP) before being able to send through the outgoing mail server.
POP3: Each of our shared hosting packages comes with POP3 e-mail accounts in addition to e-mail forwards, aliases, and auto-responders. This means you can retrieve e-mail directly from mailboxes on the mail server using an e-mail program such as Eudora, Outlook, or Outlook Express.
IMAP: Our IMAP server will permit your "client" e-mail program (e.g. Eudora, Outlook) to access remote messages stored as if they were local. For example, e-mail stored on an IMAP server can be accessed from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling, without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between these computers. |
