Anti virus & Anti Spyware
Get protected before it happened

Everyday we hear new things about Internet Security issues, viruses, Trojans and spyware threatening homes and businesses alike. But in most cases surfing in Internet, online shopping, communicating through e-mail or downloading music, programs and movies can be a safe experience if you know how to protect yourself, your family or the people in the office.

Most users are completely unaware that spyware can actually capture keystrokes and can send sensitive data outside the company. Microsoft officials blame unwanted software, such as spyware and adware, for up to one-third of application crashes on Windows XP computers.

When you listen to the news or talking with colleagues and friends, you hear about many different forms of electronic infection or threats. The most common are:

Viruses - A virus is a small piece of software that piggybacks on real programs. For example, a virus might attach itself to a program such as a spreadsheet program. Each time the spreadsheet program runs, the virus runs, too, and it has the chance to reproduce (by attaching to other programs) or wreak havoc. An e-mail viruses moves around in e-mail messages, and usually replicates itself by automatically mailing itself to dozens of people in the victim's e-mail address book.

Worms - A worm is a small piece of software that uses computer networks and security holes to replicate itself. A copy of the worm scans the network for another machine that has a specific security hole. It copies itself to the new machine using the security hole, and then starts replicating from there, as well. Using a network, a worm can expand from a single copy incredibly quickly, infecting all machines in your home/office.

Trojans (Trojans horses) - A Trojan horse is simply a computer program. The program claims to do one thing (it may claim to be a game) but instead does damage when you run it (it may erase your hard disk). Trojan horses have no way to replicate automatically.

Spyware - Spyware poses tremendous security threats to organizations, including intellectual property theft, productivity loss, and privacy invasion. As such, Barracuda Networks broadly defines spyware as any software that when installed on your computer either delivers or communicates information without your knowledge or intention outside your computer. This is a very broad definition of spyware, but one that we believe, given the current plethora of problems with spyware, is necessary. This definition includes all malware, adware, keyloggers, toolbars, and many other categories of programs.

Spyware threats have eclipsed new virus threats and estimates are that close to 80 new spyware programs emerge every week - nearly double the number of new virus's threats. Microsoft officials estimates more than half of all Windows operating system failures are caused by spyware.

Not only computers running Windows OS are vulnerable. Even if you are using MAC or computers running Linux/UNIX, you are threatened. Because there are enough threats for non-Windows OS, which can destroy your valuable data.
